Project #3396   Test Cellular Plans By Account File

We have create a way to run a Cellular Plan Test by Account Number(s). This will pull All the Phone Numbers in for the Account.  This makes it easier to Test, you won’t have to key in a wide range of phone numbers.

A new line has been added to ask for the name of an Account File to use.  If a name is keyed, this File is used to pull Phone Numbers instead of using the Phone Number Range.  You can create this File any way you want to as long as it is in Account File format.   QB is a good option to do this.   You can have as many Accounts in it as you want.

From Start1 Menu; select #23 (System Maintenance), then #24 (Goto Wireless Menu), then #4 (Key/List PCS Packages), then Option #8 (Test Rates for new PCS Plan).

We have created a new User Edit called ‘TARIFF-SPECIAL-RATE    DISCOUNT01’.  This User Edit will Allow you to Charge an Amount to One of the Tariffs in the First Group, if you have at Least One in Both Group1 and Group2, or if in Group1 and No Tariffs are Entered in Group2.  Between the From and to Date or the Special Date 2000-01-01.

Setup User Edit.

                Field 1 = TARIFF-SPECIAL-RATE

                Field 2 = DISCOUNT01

Field 3 = xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx  (Enter Tariff Code(s) with a decimal between each).  Group 1

Field 4 = xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx  (Enter Tariff Code(s) with a decimal between each). Group 2

Field 5 = xxx.xx   (Enter the Amount)

In the following Example; If the phone has Tariff Code QQ128 or QQ136 or QQ137 AND Tariff Code QQ138 or QQ139 or QQ140, the Charge for Tariff Code will be $10.93.

Project #3467     Cellular / Check Phone Numbers that Do Not have a Valid Cell Plan

We have added the ability to check Phone Numbers that Do NOT have a Valid Cell Plan as a Recurring Charge to a few additional places, so Phones can be Fixed before Month End Billing.  This check was currently Only being done in Step 3 of Month End. By that time it is too late to fix the phones.

This check is now run when Processing a Raw File (Cellular & SMS).  It is also run at the Beginning of Step 1 of Month End Billing.  If there are Phone Numbers without a Cell Plan, you will get a Message telling you to ‘Check the Report and Fix Problems’.  There are two reports.  If doing Cellular Files, the report is TPC001.  If doing SMS, the report is TPC085.

The two Main problems we have found are;

1) The phone number should be Main Billed to Another Number so the Plan Tariff Code is on the Main Number.

2) A Plan Tariff Code has Not been Added to Recurring Charges.

You can also do this check manually from the ‘Wireless Menu’.

From Start1 Menu; select #23 (System Maintenance), then #24 (Goto Wireless Menu), then #11 (Check Phone for Valid Plan).

The system will process your request and the following screen will be displayed;

Text Box:   01 08 06             Riata Training Company                  6/17/08

       You just received report TPC001 which is cellular phones
       with some kind of problem with what tariff codes they have.

       The main error is that the phone number does not have a
       basic plan.

       Check for phones that should be main billed.
       Check for phone numbers that have not been set up yet.

       You need to check this report and correct any problems.

       You need to fix these before doing month end billing.

Project #3400 – Update Email From Internet Master

We have created a new program to ‘Update the Email Field in the Account File from the Internet File’.  You Must enter the Domain for the Email Address.  The Email Address is updated with the Sign-on, if it is Not Disconnected and if it is a Type E or L from the Internet File, within the Domain name you entered.  This goes through Accounts that do Not have Email, but have Internet Services.  This could help CPNI letters to Email customers rather than sending letters.

Example; Internet File has ‘ABC’ you Enter ‘test.com’ the Email in the Account would be abc@test.com

From Start1 Menu; select #1 (Customer Information), then #19 (Riata), then #20 (Maintenance Items), then #20 (More Options), then #20 (More Option), then #7 (Update Email from Internet Master).
